Dominican José Ramírez was the offensive star of the day, going 3-for-4 with three singles, two stolen bases, and three runs scored. With this performance, Ramírez reached 977 runs scored in his career, surpassing Kenny Lofton and remaining in third place in franchise history, only behind Earl Averill (1,154) and Tris Speaker (1,079). Cleveland’s offense shone in the seventh inning, when a sacrifice fly by Austin Hedges, accompanied by a four-run rally, gave the home team the definitive lead. Hedges concluded the game with two hits, signing his first multi-hit game since August 2024. With this victory, the Guardians (63-57) are half a game behind the Yankees (64-57) in the race for the last Wild Card spot in the American League, and only two games behind the Mariners (67-55). In addition, Cleveland remains five games behind the Tigers (70-52), leaders of the Central Division, pending other results of the day. This is the first time since September 2022 that the Guardians have linked five winning series in the same campaign, a precedent that ended with a postseason qualification. The team and its fans hope that this boost is the beginning of another memorable closing towards the playoffs.
