The games in the series will be official, meaning they will count towards the standing, statistics, and records of the 2025 fall-winter tournament, including the Cibao Regional Cup, which both franchises compete for every year. The president of LIDOM, Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, highlighted the importance of this event, emphasizing that the agreements were formalized with the company Latin Events, responsible for the setup, as well as with the National Federation of Professional Baseball Players of the Dominican Republic (Fenapepro), guaranteeing the participation of the players under the regulatory conditions. “We are confident that it will be a great event that will have the majority support of Dominican fans, not only from Cibao, who reside in the state of New York and nearby areas, but also from the entire diaspora that closely follows our league. The fact that these games have official validity gives it an unprecedented impact,” said Mejía Ortiz. The president of LIDOM also revealed that the contract includes a continuation option for future editions of the Copa del Cibao in New York, as long as the agreed obligations for this year are met.
