SANTO DOMINGO.– The presidency of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League, Inc. According to the provisions of Article 23 of the Tournament Regulations, the protest was submitted within the regulatory period of twelve (12) hours after the conclusion of the match, thus complying with the formal requirements demanded by current regulations. LIDOM officially communicated the content of the protest to the team Águilas Cibaeñas, in the person of its president, from which the Cibaeña franchise has a period of no more than twelve (12) hours to present its means of defense before the presidency of the League. Once the corresponding documentation is received from the Águilas, the presidency of LIDOM will have a maximum period of three (3) hours to issue a reasoned decision, which will be final and in a single instance, in accordance with the regulations. The League warned that, due to the established deadlines, it is likely that both the discharges of the Águilas Cibaeñas and the final resolution will not be available before the start or the completion of the matches scheduled for this Friday. In that sense, LIDOM clarified that any impact on the Round Robin standing will be subject to the final ruling issued on the protest filed by the Toros del Este, information that has already been communicated to all participating franchises. The League’s presidency reiterated its commitment to strict compliance with the regulations and the transparency of the tournament, ensuring that the situation will be resolved in accordance with the established provisions.
