SANTO DOMINGO.– The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) announced that starting Friday, January 2 the official announcement of the winners of the awards corresponding to the regular season of the 2025-2026 championship, dedicated to don Juan Marichal and in option to the Banreservas Cup, will begin.

Through a press release, the league indicated that a national jury of 69 members completed the voting process to select the winners in the categories Most Valuable Player, Pitcher of the Year, Executive of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and General Manager of the Year. LIDOM specified that the announcement of the Most Valuable Player will be made on Wednesday, January 7, during a special broadcast of the official program Palco LIDOM, starting at 12:00 noon, through the YouTube channel LIDOMTV. The other awards will be announced at the same time, through official statements, as well as through the digital platforms and social networks of the league. The revelation calendar will begin on Friday, January 2 with the announcements of the Rookie of the Year and Man of the Year awards. This last award, according to the official regulations of the awards, is granted by the players of the league themselves and is awarded to the player who best represents the values of camaraderie, kindness, decency and respect for the game. On Sunday, January 4, the winner of the General Manager of the Year award will be announced, while on Monday 5 the Executive of the Year will be announced. Subsequently, on Tuesday 6 the announcement of the Pitcher of the Year will take place, and finally, on Wednesday 7, the winner of the Most Valuable Player award of the regular season will be revealed. LIDOM explained that the jury was made up of five communicators with no labor, professional, or commercial affiliation with the six professional baseball franchises in the cities of Santiago, San Francisco de Macorís, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana; four members of the press departments and broadcasting networks of the six teams; three Dominican communicators residing in the United States; three international reporters established in the Dominican Republic, and one communicator from provinces without franchises, thus guaranteeing the regional equity of the voting process. The provinces represented in the jury were La Altagracia, El Seibo, María Trinidad Sánchez, Valverde, Puerto Plata, La Vega, Espaillat, Monseñor Nouel and Peravia. For the second consecutive year, LIDOM applied the weighted valuation method, through which voters were able to select several candidates per award, in the order they deemed appropriate, generating differentiated scores for each position of choice.Awards Announcement Calendar
