Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) announced the official selection order for the Tano Martino 2025 Rookie Draft, which will be held this Wednesday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Sambil Shopping Center. This year, the Toros del Este will open the selections by taking the first overall pick, followed by the Gigantes del Cibao and Leones del Escogido.
The 23rd draft edition will feature 235 available prospects, from the organizations of the 30 Major League teams, independent leagues, Asian baseball and the Summer League, in a process that will take place over 16 rounds.

Variations in Subsequent Rounds
Due to prior agreements between teams, there will be significant changes in two specific rounds:
Sixth round: The Leones del Escogido will receive the original pick of the Toros del Este, as part of the trade that involved Víctor Robles for Marco Luciano.
Ninth round: The Tigres del Licey will get the first pick of the Toros, a result of the trade that included Ángel Perdomo for Miguel Castro.
The Tano Martino 2025 Rookie Draft will be key to the future of the six franchises, which will seek to add the best young talent available to strengthen their rosters. The activity will serve as a prelude to the start of the 2025-2026 Winter Baseball Championship, scheduled for October 15 and dedicated to the legendary Juan Marichal, member of the Cooperstown Hall of Fame.
