At just 26 years old and with over 160 home runs in his career, Guerrero Jr. joins a stellar list of players turned into animated superheroes, which includes Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Paul Skenes, and other Dominicans like Juan Soto and Julio Rodríguez. The campaign, launched before Opening Day, seeks to connect a new generation of fans with the most impactful figures in the sport through illustrations and anime-inspired videos.
Heir to one of baseball’s most powerful legacies —his father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., hit 449 home runs and is a Hall of Famer—, Guerrero Jr. has turned that lineage into a narrative of superpower within the diamond. His 2024 season was proof of this, with an OPS of .940, his best mark since his historic 2021 campaign.
While the Toronto Blue Jays, Guerrero Jr.’s team, host the San Diego Padres this week, the clash will also pit other Latin stars like Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado against each other, in a series that promises emotions in the style of an epic anime battle.
The “Heroes of the Game” campaign continues to expand during the 2025 season, taking the spirit of baseball beyond the field and celebrating the cultural roots of its protagonists.
