“Al Horford will continue with Golden State after signing a two-year, US$14 million contract”

Santo Domingo. — The veteran Dominican Al Horford will continue his NBA career after agreeing to a new two-year, $14 million contract with the Golden State Warriors.

According to reports, Horford declined his player option to negotiate a new deal that will allow him to remain with the franchise while, at the same time, improving his earnings for the upcoming campaigns.

“Golden State’s Al Horford is declining his player option and intends to sign a new two-year, $14 million deal to stay with the Warriors, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater. Horford, 40, becomes just the 13th player in NBA history to reach 20 seasons,” it was reported.

Last season, the Dominican center averaged 8.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, establishing himself as a key piece due to his experience, defense, and ability to space the floor with his outside shooting.

The agreement was reached between the Warriors and Jason Glushon, the player’s agent, ensuring the continuity of one of the most respected veterans in the league.

With this new contract, Horford prepares to play his 20th season in the NBA, becoming just the thirteenth player in history to reach that mark.

At 40 years old, the five-time All-Star continues to extend a career that began in 2007, when he was selected in the Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Since then, he has worn the jerseys of Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Oklahoma City, and Golden State.

The Dominican, considered one of the most prominent Latin American players in NBA history, continues to add achievements to a career that includes a championship and a high-impact trajectory in international basketball.
