Andrea Pigozzi wins gold in jumping and completes the Pigozzi family’s golden trilogy

SANTO DOMINGO. Perseverance paid off for Andrea Pigozzi, who won the gold medal this Tuesday in the water skiing jump event at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, after prevailing in an exciting duel against his brother Paolo Pigozzi.

After obtaining two silver medals in previous days, Andrea reached the top step of the podium with a jump of over 45 meters, enough to surpass Paolo in one of the most exciting competitions of the tournament.

With this victory, Andrea joined her brothers Paolo and Robert Pigozzi as Central American champions in Santo Domingo 2026, consolidating the family’s dominance in water skiing.

The outstanding family performance also included Francesca Pigozzi, who contributed three bronze medals, making the Pigozzis one of the most successful families in the Dominican delegation during these Central American and Caribbean Games.

Andrea’s gold strengthens the Dominican Republic’s medal haul and reaffirms the prominence of water skiing as one of the highest-performing disciplines for the country in the current edition of the regional event.
