Santo Domingo.– Argentine coach Néstor “Che” García will once again coach the Dominican Republic’s men’s national basketball team, ahead of the start of the Qualifiers for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup, thus marking a new cycle for the Dominican team.

First duel against Mexico
The Dominican team will begin its journey on Friday, November 28 when they visit Mexico at the Marcelino González Gymnasium in Zacatecas, at 8:40 p.m. local time (10:40 p.m. in Santo Domingo). The second match will be at home, on Monday, December 1, at the Ricardo Gioriber Arias Volleyball Palace, within the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center. Dominican Republic is in Group A, along with United States, Mexico, and Nicaragua, within a qualifying process that grants seven spots for the selections of America. In the Third Window, scheduled for July 3, 2026, Dominicans will receive the United States at the Virgilio Travieso Soto Sports Palace, currently undergoing remodeling.Technical Body and Work Structure
García will be accompanied by assistants David Díaz, Abraham Disla and Sergio Jiménez. In physical preparation continues Adenauer Díaz, while doctor Gewill Acosta remains as the team doctor.
