Toronto (Canada) (EFE).- Vancouver, one of the two Canadian host cities for the 2026 World Cup, will welcome the tournament as a showcase of a compact, diverse city open to the Pacific, marked by its landscape of mountains, sea, skyscrapers, and multicultural neighborhoods.
The city will host seven matches at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, located in the city center and with a capacity of 54,000 spectators during the tournament. Vancouver will host five group stage matches, one round of 32 match, and one round of 16 match, between June 13 and July 7.

In addition, the Canadian national soccer team announced on May 26 that it had chosen the National Soccer Development Centre (NSDC), located on the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus in Vancouver, as its base of operations during the World Cup.
With more than 700,000 inhabitants, it is one of the most diverse cities in Canada. 67% of its residents speak English most often at home and 13% speak Chinese, according to municipal data. The city also highlights that it is located on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Indigenous peoples.
Vancouver is an expensive city, especially regarding accommodation, so it is advisable to book in advance. In June and July, the weather is usually mild, although it can rain and the nights can get chilly by the water, and the key to enjoying it during the World Cup is to combine the soccer atmosphere of the downtown area with its greatest hallmark: the intersection of the Pacific, the mountains, and cultural diversity.
