SANTO DOMINGO. The Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), through the Technical Directorate and the Mission Headquarters, announced that the delegation that will represent the country in the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 will be composed of 1,022 people, of which 710 are athletes.

The national delegation will feature 379 male athletes and 331 female athletes, in addition to 312 officials, including coaches, delegates, medical staff, and administrators.
Dominican athletes will compete in 40 sports and 57 disciplines, in a historic edition of the Games that will be held from July 24 to August 8 in the country.
The head of mission, José Mera, reported that the advance team of the delegation, composed of 10 people, entered the Central American and Caribbean Village on July 17, along with the water polo team, which began its competitions on the 20th.
Likewise, he explained that 40% of the delegation entered the Village this Wednesday, accompanied by coaches, delegates, and medical staff, while the remaining 60% will do so in a staggered manner over the coming days.
The process will conclude with the arrival of the athletics team, consisting of 91 members, including 73 athletes, as well as coaches and delegates.
The opening ceremony of the Games is scheduled for this Friday at 8:00 PM at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, while the official competition program will begin on Saturday.
The first medals of the competition will be contested in water polo, in both categories, as well as in mixed doubles team badminton, while judo and taekwondo will also begin awarding medals from the very first days.
