The streaming platform Spotify launched a new feature that allows users to know how the song they are listening to was created, offering a deeper and more interactive experience.
The tool, called “About the Song”, displays information about the creative process, inspiration, and details behind each musical theme. This function appears through informative cards that the user can view directly from the playback screen by swiping down.
These cards present brief and easy-to-understand data, collected from different sources, with the aim that the listener discovers the meaning of the song without leaving the application. In addition, users can rate the content with options such as “like” or “dislike”.
Initially, the function is available in beta phase and only for premium subscribers in countries like the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, although it is expected to expand to more regions in the future.
With this innovation, Spotify seeks to strengthen the connection between artists and their followers, allowing users not only to listen to music, but also to understand the story and context behind each song.
