Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that an upper-level trough, combined with the diurnal cycle, will continue to generate local showers, isolated thunderstorms and possible wind gusts this Thursday in different areas of the country.
From early morning, isolated showers were observed in La Altagracia, El Seibo, Samaná, and María Trinidad Sánchez, extending to nearby areas in the morning due to the influence of the wind. After midday, increases in cloudiness are expected with scattered showers and thunderstorms in Santo Domingo, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Azua, San Juan, Elías Piña, Independencia, Bahoruco, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, and Monte Cristi, conditions that will tend to diminish in the early hours of the night.
In the rest of the territory, a mostly cloudy and opaque sky will prevail due to the presence of light Saharan dust particles. For Gran Santo Domingo (National District, Santo Domingo North, East, and West), some showers with isolated thunderstorms and possible gusts are expected until the early hours of the night. Minimum temperatures will range between 22 °C and 24 °C and maximums between 33 °C and 35 °C.
