Indomet forecasts showers with thunderstorms and wind gusts

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic’s Meteorology Institute (Indomet) reported that, for this Saturday, isolated showers could occur in the morning hours, over the provinces of La Altagracia, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez. Meteorologists Carla Morales and Eimer Bautista explained that, after midday, a trough at several levels of the troposphere will affect the national territory in combination with local effects, causing an increase in cloudiness, accompanied by scattered showers, thunderstorms, and wind gusts, mainly in El Seibo, La Romana, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, and sectors of Greater Santo Domingo.

Also, in the provinces of San Cristóbal, Azua, La Vega, Santiago, Monseñor Nouel, San Juan, Independencia, Elías Piña and nearby areas, especially in the afternoon until the early hours of the night. Regarding temperatures, they indicated that they will remain hot due to the time of year, east/southeast wind and light Saharan dust particles. The minimum will range between 22 °C and 24 °C, while the maximums will remain between 33 °C and 35 °C.
