Bill and Hillary Clinton refused to testify before the committee, claiming that the subpoenas were invalid, legally unenforceable, and politically motivated, without a legitimate legislative purpose. Through their lawyers, they argued that the committee was using them politically and that the process exceeded Congress’s constitutional limits to investigate. The Oversight Committee is responsible for overseeing the Government and requesting official documents, and images and documents related to the Epstein case have been released from there, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking of minors. The next step is for the House of Representatives to decide whether to refer the case to the Department of Justice for possible contempt charges.#Most read
