San Pedro de Macorís.- President Luis Abinader delivered this Sunday 2,315 property titles that directly benefit some 10,000 people in the El Patio, Batey Central, Cáscara Jíbara, Colina I and II, 24 de Abril, Villa Centro, Batey Centro and Ingenio Santa Fe sectors in the province of San Pedro de Macorís.
During the event, the president affirmed that this delivery recognizes the property rights of the beneficiary families, providing them with security and development opportunities, and also highlighted that it is one of the initiatives that gives him the most satisfaction due to its direct impact on the quality of life of the population, as they represent social justice and economic development, which is why he usually attends these events personally.
President Abinader reported that the Government is working on the titling of the remaining properties, including some 6,000 land titles owned by the State Sugar Council, which will increase legal security and the tranquility of residents in San Pedro de Macorís.
The Head of State said that he is keeping abreast of other needs of the province, so he spoke with the director of the National Health Service, Julio Landrón, in order to expedite the work to which the Antonio Musa Hospital is subjected.
He also announced that he instructed the Minister of Public Works, Eduardo Estrella, to complete the asphalting in the province and to bid for the repair of the Tomás José Binet Mieses sports complex.
The project contemplates titling 4,366 families to achieve the goal of providing them with the property documents for the lands on which they have their homes, businesses, and agricultural plots, which will allow thousands of families to have legal security over the land in which they live and work.
On his part, the executive director of the Technical Unit for the Execution of State Land Titling, Duarte Méndez Peña, expressed that the delivery of property title certificates to families in the municipality constitutes joy and hope, as this process materializes a long-awaited right.
The official explained that the work carried out in coordination with the General Directorate of National Assets was carried out on plot no. 15-A, of D.C. 16.4, which covers a geographical area of 1,045,579.24 square meters, which allowed hundreds of families to have their property title today free of charge, generating a joint saving of RD 349,280,000.00.
He highlighted that President Luis Abinader places significant importance on the municipality, in which, since the beginning of his administration in 2020, 24,807 title certificates have already been delivered as of this Sunday.
He also reported the delivery of 500 remaining property titles to the beneficiaries of the San Pedro I and Villa Progreso projects who still do not have them in their hands.
Upon concluding his speech, the Director of Titling highlighted the firm commitment and vision for the future of the President of the Republic, who has positioned land titling as a strategic and permanent public policy, and assured that thanks to his determination and decisive support, significant progress is now evident for the benefit of Dominican families.
