Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader led a meeting this Monday with representatives from the commercial, industrial, business, and agricultural sectors to follow up on the price roundtable and coordinate actions aimed at mitigating the impact of international fluctuations on the Dominican economy.
The meeting, held in the Green Room of the National Palace, aimed to evaluate the behavior of international markets and strengthen strategies aimed at protecting the population from possible effects derived from volatility in the prices of oil, natural gas, and other external factors.
During the meeting, the president highlighted the importance of permanent dialogue between the Government and the productive sectors, considering that this coordination has allowed for building consensus and adopting measures that contribute to maintaining the country’s economic stability.

“It has always been a meeting of great cooperation, understanding, and contributions from the commercial, business, industrial, and agricultural sectors, which constantly presents us with recommendations so that, even in the midst of this international scenario, we can maintain the greatest possible stability,” expressed Abinader.

The head of State explained that the recommendations made by entrepreneurs, merchants, industrialists, and agricultural producers complement the actions implemented by the Government to face the effects of variations in international markets.
Likewise, he reiterated that collaboration between the public and private sectors continues to be a fundamental tool for preserving national stability, guaranteeing the supply of products, and protecting the purchasing power of citizens.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP), the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), the National Organization of Commercial Enterprises (ONEC), the National Union of Economic Supermarkets (UNASE), and the Dominican Agribusiness Board, among other organizations linked to the national productive sector.

The president was accompanied by the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; the Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón; the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista, and the Director General of Customs, Nelson Arroyo.
The authorities highlighted that this space for dialogue will continue to meet to monitor the evolution of international markets and coordinate timely responses to any situation that may affect the economy and the well-being of the Dominican population.
