Santo Domingo.- The Airport Department (DA) received today the Certification at the Level of Excellence: CAF +300 Seal, which recognizes institutional quality in processes, continuous improvement, commitment to excellence in management, and the provision of high-quality services to interested users.

The quality certification was delivered to the executive director of the DA, Víctor Pichardo, by the minister Sigmund Freund, of Public Administration, after that governing entity confirmed compliance with a set of requirements that evidenced, in its evaluation, a score higher than 300.

“Receiving this recognition with the CAF Seal represents our commitment to institutionality, the strengthening of processes, and the development of excellence in public management, especially in services to citizens,” expressed Pichardo, who cited that this certification, along with the National Quality Award that the institution received in 2024, demonstrates that the institution is advancing in the strengthening of transparency.

“We have implemented, under the leadership of President Luis Abinader, various actions that have been improving institutional strengthening, such as the achievement of ISO 9001 certifications, for the Quality Management System; and ISO 37001, for Anti-Bribery Management, in addition to the fact that we are currently working on NORDOM ISO 37301:2021, regarding Compliance Management Systems.”

Meanwhile, while expressing a few words, Sigmund Freund congratulated the Airport Department for the standards of transparency, quality, and efficiency that it maintains in its functions. “Being in that group of institutions that have such high standards of quality, you should feel proud,” added the official, while referring to other entities that have received the certification.

He maintained that as an institution, he understands that the DA, after having received the national quality award, is on the rise. “You have transformed what the DA was in 2020 into what it is today. It has been a dramatic change, first with the strengthening of its role as a regulator in airport matters, but also in the participation of important projects, such as the case of Pedernales,” he pointed out.

The CAF +300 Quality Seal is awarded by the MAP in its capacity as the governing body for institutional performance evaluation, and its objectives include recognizing and promoting the quality and continuous improvement of the country’s public entities or bodies that have maintained an institutional commitment to providing high-quality services.

Present on behalf of the DA were deputy directors Luis Cabrera, Jorge Leandro Santana, and Marcello Mazzilli; the director of Planning and Development, María del Carmen Méndez, among others.

While Freund was accompanied by Hadeline Matos, Vice Minister of Institutional Evaluation and Performance at the MAP.
