Apple earns $42.097 billion in its fiscal first quarter and the iPhone sets a sales milestone

New York- The tech giant Apple reported this Thursday a net profit of 42.097 billion dollars in the first quarter of its fiscal year, 16% more year-on-year, and its iPhone phone, the company’s engine, marked a sales milestone. According to a statement released at the close of Wall Street, Apple has recorded a historic quarter, with record revenue of $143.756 billion, up 16% year-on-year, in which the iPhone was the star and accounted for $85.269 billion (up 23%). “The iPhone has had its best quarter due to unprecedented demand, with records in every geographic segment, and (the) Services (unit) has also achieved a revenue record,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook, quoted in the statement.

In the call to analyze the figures, he attributed the “extraordinary” demand to the iPhone 17 and its Pro and Pro Max editions, and stated that it has the best performance, camera system, and lightness of this line. Apple product sales, including iPhone, Mac, and iPad, totaled 113.743 billion, while services, which include the App Store, iCloud, and Apple Music, generated 30.013 billion, according to the breakdown of the results. Cook pointed out that there are more than 2.5 billion active devices of the bitten apple brand in the world and considered it proof of “incredible consumer satisfaction”.

Good results overall

Apple reported an increase in overall sales across all its geographic segments and highlighted the notable growth of China and other territories, including Taiwan and Hong Kong, by 38%. The Americas, which accounts for the bulk of sales, specifically grew by 11%.

As things stand, Apple’s CFO, Kevan Parekh, highlighted that the good results at the beginning of 2026 have allowed the firm to generate 54 billion in liquidity, of which they have distributed about 32 billion to shareholders.

In October, Apple closed its fiscal year 2025 (it does not follow the natural calendar) with a cumulative net profit of 112.010 billion, 19% more year-on-year, and record sales of 416.161 billion, 6% more.

Today’s results were well received by investors, who pushed the shares up 0.7% in after-hours electronic trading, following a positive day on the stock market. Apple is the third-largest publicly traded company in the world, with a capitalization of $3.8 trillion.
