Army seizes SUV and detains nine Haitian nationals in operation in Los Miches, Dajabón

Dajabón. — Members of the Army of Dominican Republic (ERD) stopped a jeep in which nine Haitian nationals were found in irregular migratory condition, during an operation carried out on the Los Miches–Santiago de la Cruz road section, Dajabón province.

The ERD soldiers were carrying out patrol and immigration interdiction duties when they stopped the Jeep Cherokee vehicle, white in color, license plate G762844, whose driver fled upon noticing the military presence, leaving the jeep abandoned along with the foreigners it was transporting. Among the occupants were two (2) men, six (6) women, and one (1) minor, all without the legal documentation to remain in Dominican territory.

The jeep and the detainees were transferred to the headquarters of the 10th Infantry Battalion of the ERD for the corresponding legal processes.
