Banco Promerica announced a capital injection of 10 million dollars from its parent company Promerica Financial Corporation, marking a strategic milestone in its more than 25-year history in the Dominican Republic. This operation is aimed at further strengthening the institution’s favorable financial position and supporting its ambitious sustainable growth plan in the Dominican Republic.
The entity has maintained sustained growth in its main financial indicators. At the close of December 2025, assets reached RD$86,992 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 25.9%, well above the 7.9% recorded by multiple banks. Regarding the loan portfolio, the bank reported a growth of 32.8%, totaling RD$52,700 million compared to RD$39,683 million in the same period of the previous year, far exceeding the system average, which stood at 9.1%. These results have been supported by prudent risk management, reflected in a stressed delinquency rate of 4.9% (November 2025), which positions Banco Promerica as the best-performing bank among the banks serving the main customer segments of multiple banking in the Dominican Republic. Carlos Julio Camilo, executive president of Banco Promerica, stated: “This capitalization represents a vote of confidence from our shareholders in the strength of our business model and in the long-term vision that guides each of our decisions. At Banco Promerica, we reaffirm our commitment to the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic, driving innovation, promoting financial inclusion, and actively supporting the growth of the country’s productive sectors,” Camilo affirmed. The bank’s growth has also been supported by an expansion plan that has allowed it to be closer to its customers by opening multiple branches in the last five years. These include the offices in La Vega, San Francisco de Macorís, the modern Cibao Regional Center in Santiago, as well as the Coral Mall, Gustavo Mejía Ricart, Gazcue and Independencia branches. Similarly, the entity has made significant investments in technological infrastructure, strengthening its position as a benchmark for innovation in Dominican banking. As a result of these efforts, the bank was recognized in the Gold category of the Superintendency of Banks’ digitalization ranking. With this capital injection, Banco Promerica reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the Dominican financial system and to the sustainable development of the country. The entity will continue to actively support the productive sectors, promoting access to responsible financing, driving innovation and maintaining the highest standards of management, corporate governance and financial strength, with a clear long-term vision aimed at generating a positive impact for its clients, strategic allies and the national economy.
