Santo Domingo.– The Dominican merengue singer Belkis Concepción reported that she is going through a complicated health situation, after doctors detected a heart problem that will have to be treated through a surgical intervention.
Through a video posted on her social media, the artist explained that for the last month and a half she has been undergoing various medical tests due to several health complications.
Concepción recalled that nine years ago she managed to overcome kidney cancer, a disease for which one of her kidneys was removed. However, during recent medical evaluations, specialists detected a mass in the remaining kidney and an adenoma that would initially be treated.
However, he indicated that subsequent examinations revealed a “very delicate” heart problem, so the medical team decided to prioritize that condition before any other procedure.
“There are only a few days left. I hadn’t wanted to tell you anything yet because it has been a long road until the solution was found,” expressed the performer, who asked her followers to keep her in their prayers during this process.

The pioneer of female merengue expressed her gratitude for the support of her three children, Belkis María, Isabela, and Julio, who have accompanied her to all medical consultations, as well as the constant support of a group of friends whom she defined as “brothers at heart.”
Despite the situation, the singer assured that she maintains a positive attitude and is confident that she will overcome this new health battle.
