COE expands to 11 provinces on alert for heavy showers and thunderstorms
Santo Domingo.– The Emergency Operations Center (COE) increased to eleven the number of provinces under alert due to the incidence of moderate to very heavy showers, accompanied by electrical storms and wind gusts.
Through a statement released on its social media, the organization informed that the demarcations on green alert are Espaillat, Hato Mayor, Monseñor Nouel, El Seibo, María Trinidad Sánchez, La Vega, Hermanas Mirabal, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, Samaná, Monte Plata and the National District.
Faced with this situation, the authorities urged the population to refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and ravines with high volumes of water, as well as avoiding the use of spas in the areas under alert, due to the risk of sudden floods.
