San Juan.– The protesters participating in the day of protest in defense of water have already arrived at the Sabaneta dam, the central point of the mobilization called this Sunday in the province of San Juan.
Hundreds of people, from different communities, walked several kilometers to gather in the area of the dam wall, where they continue to raise slogans rejecting mining exploitation in the area.
The march, organized by social and environmental movements, is part of a series of actions that seek to draw the attention of the authorities to the importance of preserving the water sources of the province.
During the arrival, a peaceful atmosphere was observed, with the presence of families, community leaders, and representatives from different sectors who reiterated their position that “water is not negotiated”.
It is expected that in the coming hours, interventions by leaders and spokespersons of the movement will continue, who will insist on the defense of natural resources and the paralysis of any mining project that puts the water supply in San Juan at risk.
