Dintel seizes drugs, cash, and multiple pieces of evidence during operation in La Vega

La Vega.– Agents of the Regional Intelligence Sub-Directorate (Dintel) of the National Police seized dozens of portions of controlled substances, cash, a scale, cigarettes and two abandoned scooters, during an operation carried out on the main street of the Villa Canaán sector, in Rincón. The intervention took place near a drug sales point attributed to an individual identified as “Joel La J”. Upon noticing the presence of the agents, several men fled, with the police units managing to arrest José Anicacio and Cristhofer Ant. Germoso Figueroa, both residents of the same area.

During the inspection of a wooden and zinc shack used as a point of sale, 30 portions of a white powder, presumably cocaine (13.4 grams); 41 portions of a vegetable, presumably marijuana (38.4 grams); one portion of a rocky material, presumably crack (13.9 grams); RD$1,050 in cash; a scale; two packs of cigarettes; 246 units of cigarettes; 24 matches; a radio battery; five ziploc-type bags; and three plastic bags with filin paper cutouts were seized. Also retained were two scooters left abandoned at the scene: one Tauro brand, blue with black, without a license plate and with a chassis not visible; and another Yamaha, dark blue with black, without plastic on the rear. The detainees were transferred to the corresponding police station for investigation purposes and subsequent submission to justice.
