The event will be broadcast live from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon and will feature the participation of authorities, specialists, teachers, and representatives of the educational community.
Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD) will hold this Thursday, August 13, through the Educational and Cultural Multimedia of the Dominican Republic (EDUMÁS), the special event “Marathon 26-27K”, a live broadcast conceived as a prelude to the start of the 2026-2027 school year, scheduled for next August 24.
EDUMÁS, attached to the Vice Ministry of Technical and Pedagogical Affairs of MINERD, will carry out this event from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon, with a program aimed at informing, motivating, and supporting the educational community in preparation for the new school year.
The initiative will bring together educational authorities, specialists, teachers, and representatives from the different levels and modalities of the educational system, who will address the main actions, progress, and strategies developed to guarantee the necessary conditions for a successful start to classes.
The programming will include spaces dedicated to the main advances and opportunities for each educational level, as well as guidance of interest for students, teachers, and families regarding the return to the classrooms.

One of the featured contents will be the presentation of the results of the Summer and Leveling Session, an initiative developed to strengthen learning, address specific academic needs, and help students arrive better prepared for the new school year.

The “26-27K Marathon” can be followed live through EDUMÁS TV, on channel 17 of open signal and channels 81 and 1081 of Claro TV. The event will also be available on EDUMÁS Radio, on the 95.3 FM frequency for Santo Domingo, the South and East regions, and 106.5 FM for the Cibao and the North region.
Likewise, the broadcast will be disseminated through the digital platforms of EDUMÁS and MINERD, with the purpose of expanding the reach of the content and facilitating access for families and other members of the educational community.
