Santo Domingo.– The National Institute of Student Welfare (INABIE) reported that the distribution of school supplies for the 2026-2027 school year to educational districts is progressing, for which it has reinforced its logistical capacity with the aim of speeding up shipments.
The institution indicated that it has extended working hours and strengthened its operational teams, with the purpose of maintaining a continuous flow of distribution to educational centers.
He highlighted that, as a result of those actions, he has distributed 744,489 school kits in the National District and the provinces of Santo Domingo, Santiago, Bahoruco, Barahona, La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, and Monte Plata. Based on those deliveries, the educational centers continue to coordinate the distribution of these supplies to families, in accordance with the organization established by each school.
He added that, as part of the continuation of this process in the Eastern region, this Saturday he will distribute more than 16,950 school kits in the 12-01 Educational District of Higüey, which will benefit students from 21 educational centers in that area.
INABIE reported that the process will continue next week in the Northeast region of the country, starting with the distribution of school kits destined for educational centers in Nagua.

As educational centers receive the school kits, distribution to families is also progressing according to the organization established by each school, a dynamic that has been positively valued by parents and management teams, who highlight both the support it represents for the preparation of the new school year and the economic relief it generates for households.
“I am very grateful because my daughter received her complete school supplies. This represents a great relief for our finances, as we will not have to invest in shoes, pants, polo shirts, a backpack, and other supplies, so she will be able to attend classes from the first day with everything she needs to start the school year,” expressed Elizabeth Serrano, mother of student Lizbeth Rosa Serrano, from the Manuel Aurelio Tavárez Justo Polytechnic in Villas Agrícolas.
Meanwhile, Francisco Alberto Cuello, father of a student at the Juan Pablo Duarte High School, stated: “Receiving school supplies before the start of classes helps us a lot as parents. It is a relief to know that our children have their uniforms and supplies to start the school year without setbacks.”
Educational centers also highlight the organization of the process to make these supplies available to families as they are received from the educational districts.

“We have received the school supplies through Educational District 15-02 and we are distributing them to parents as the re-enrollment process progresses, so that our students can start the school year from the first day with their complete uniform and all the necessary supplies for their learning,” expressed Jameson Montero Montás, pedagogical coordinator of the Manuel Aurelio Tavárez Justo Polytechnic.
More than 1.8 million beneficiaries
The institution recalled that the program will benefit more than 1.8 million students from 6,577 educational centers in the public education system, directly impacting more than 1.4 million families.
Likewise, he explained that the distribution of school supplies is carried out through the 122 educational districts, from where the center directors collect the kits for their subsequent delivery to the students. In that sense, it will be the educational centers themselves that will inform the parents, mothers, and guardians of the date and procedure for the collection of the supplies.

Each student will receive a free school kit with the essential supplies corresponding to their educational level, in addition to the official uniform consisting of a polo shirt, pants, socks, and shoes, in accordance with the model approved by the Ministry of Education.
INABIE highlighted that this public policy represents an estimated savings of between RD$3,864 and RD$5,433 per student, which contributes to easing the financial burden on families and ensuring that all students in the public education system have what they need to attend classes.
