SANTO DOMINGO.– Hope has knocked on the doors of the family of Génesis Jasmín Calzado Javier once again, the 11-year-old girl suffering from Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. After De Último Minuto made her case known and the urgent need for a medication valued at RD$8.7 million, the minor will finally be able to receive the treatment she needs to continue fighting for her life.
The aid was made possible thanks to the support of the Banreservas Volunteers, the Plaza de la Salud Board of Trustees, the company Mercasid, and the contributions made by family members and other people who stood in solidarity with the cause, managing to gather the necessary resources to acquire the expensive medication that her mother had been seeking for months.
Currently, Génesis is receiving the required vaccines and medical studies as part of the protocol prior to the administration of the medication. Once this phase is concluded, she will be admitted to receive the treatment, an essential step to advance toward the transplant she needs.
His mother, Kathernie Javier Rodríguez, expressed her gratitude for the support received and stated that the publication of the case was decisive in getting various institutions and citizens to join the cause.

“Everything happened thanks to you and the other people and institutions that joined in. Mercasid, the Banreservas Volunteers donated a bottle to me, also what my family gathered, and the Plaza de la Salud Board of Trustees will take care of the rest,” he/she expressed.
Likewise, she explained that her daughter has already begun the medical process prior to the treatment.

“Now they are giving her some vaccines that are mandatory before the medication, they are also running several tests on her. Then they will proceed to hospitalize her and medicate her,” he/she indicated.
The family reiterated their gratitude to all the people and institutions that made this aid possible, considering that it represents a new opportunity for Genesis to continue her treatment and undergo the transplant that will allow her to improve her quality of life.
