Following viral video, National Police and Public Prosecutor’s Office deploy operation in La Romana due to assault on elderly person

La Romana.- The National Police and the Public Ministry deployed a wide operation in the municipality of Villa Hermosa, La Romana, following a viral video of domestic violence, where a man was observed brutally assaulting his father, an elderly man with apparent physical limitations. The search and location actions were led by Brigadier General Wandy Madé Montilla, Eastern Regional Director of the National Police, who immediately ordered several investigations in different sectors of the municipality, after the audiovisual material went viral on social media. Police teams and representatives of the Public Ministry carried out strategic patrols and intelligence work in Villa Hermosa, especially in the Pica Piedra sector, with the aim of arresting the aggressor, who had also threatened to kill anyone who tried to report him. According to authorities, the operation remains active and patrols and information gathering have been intensified to locate the suspect and bring him to justice.

Officially, the security agencies reiterated the call for the individual to surrender through the appropriate channels, warning that they continue to pursue his location and that his capture is only a matter of time.
