San Juan de la Maguana. — The Public Ministry issued a provisional protection order in favor of a woman identified as Belén, following a complaint for alleged domestic violence filed against Edward del Rosario Veloz.
The measure was ordered by the Gender, Intrafamily, and Sexual Violence Care and Prevention Unit of San Juan de la Maguana, following the complaint filed on June 22, 2026, under Law 24-97 on Intrafamily and Gender Violence.
According to the official document, the order seeks to guarantee the safety and integrity of the complainant while the corresponding investigations proceed. The provision is supported by the Dominican Constitution, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and international agreements related to the protection of women’s rights.
