Santo Domingo.- In an event led by the head of the Social Development Directorate Supérate, Gloria Reyes, the Government delivered today, via electronic transfer, the Christmas Bonus to 1,453,907 beneficiary people of the Aliméntate subsidy. Each household received RD$1,500.00 in addition to the RD$1,650 they receive monthly, for a total disbursement of RD$2,180,860,500.
The launch event, held at the Ensanche La Fe Sports and Cultural Club, began with the symbolic clicking on a giant digital screen by Reyes, a gesture that marked the formal start of the transfers.
The activity was replicated simultaneously in Santo Domingo Este, Santiago, San Cristóbal and San Pedro de Macorís, with the presence of officials and local authorities.
In addition, a Christmas lunch was offered to 250 beneficiaries at each point.
The initiative, launched by the official responsible for coordinating social protection policy, responds to President Luis Abinader’s vision of guaranteeing a dignified, fair, and transparent delivery of these resources, following the same mechanism used for social subsidies: electronic transfer.
The goal is to allow families to celebrate Christmas with joy, tranquility, and the spirit of unity that characterizes the Dominican people.
He added that the Government has turned the Christmas “Brisita” into significant support for the most vulnerable families, betting that joy, tradition, and the spirit of sharing reach everyone equally.
He also highlighted that the simultaneous delivery at five points in the country demonstrates the commitment and efficiency of the authorities, setting a precedent by completing the distribution just four days after the beginning of December.
Reyes was accompanied by Augusto de los Santos, director of the Single Beneficiary System (SIUBEN); Digna Reynoso, executive director of the Presidential Management Council (Conagep); Shade Medina, councilwoman of the National District; and Marcos Moore, director of the National District of Social Development Supérate.
During the activity, the benefits of La Brisita de Supérate were shared with the attending families, who enjoyed a Christmas lunch enlivened with carols and the presence of Santa Claus.
