Santo Domingo Este.– President Luis Abinader launched this Thursday the Christmas Bonus 2025 for 2.6 million Dominicans and called on the country to live Christmas as a time of unity, peace and strengthening of the family, highlighting that these festivities represent the best scenario to meet again, reflect and cultivate brotherhood among all citizens.
During the event held at the Invivienda Sports Center, Santo Domingo Este, the president highlighted the value of the family as a fundamental axis of society and recalled the importance of keeping alive the traditions of contact, closeness, and solidarity.
“Because this is the moment of encounter between the people one loves, not only among the family of blood, but also the family of brotherhood, with the brothers that life has formed,” he expressed.
The ruler also called on the country to welcome 2026 with hope, optimism, and determination, working together for the health, progress, and well-being of all Dominican families.
“Christmas is a time for gathering, peace, and reflection; but it is also a time for planning. Spend this Christmas in peace, with your loved ones, especially strengthening the family, which is the most important thing,” said the president, wishing blessings and happy holidays to all the Dominican people.

Abinader pointed out that the 2025 Christmas Bonus will be distributed in two modalities: physical and electronic. He explained that, starting this Thursday, the Social Cabinet will be given 1 million 200 thousand physical bonuses to distribute with the greatest fairness and for those who need it most, while the electronic modality will benefit 1 million 400 thousand people, especially families of the Superate program in conditions of greater vulnerability.
The Head of State highlighted that this combination of direct delivery and digital transfer ensures that support reaches those who need it most, based on studies of socioeconomic levels and social priorities.
In addition, he reported that the Social Assistance Directorate (DAS) will complement these actions with the distribution of raw food in previously identified communities and added that the Economic Dining Room programs will reinforce Christmas dinners throughout the national territory, with the purpose of ensuring that Dominican families can celebrate with dignity and joy.

Start of the 5th edition of the “Christmas Breeze”
From his side, the coordinator of the Social Policy Cabinet, Tony Peña Guaba, highlighted the beginning of the 5th edition of the “Christmas Breeze”, a social support program that this year will impact 2.6 million Dominicans through two modalities of Christmas Bonus, under the guidelines of President Abinader.
He specified that these physical bonds are being channeled by the Operations Directorate towards neighborhood councils, fire departments, Armed Forces, National Police, local governments through the Dominican Federation of Municipalities, the Dominican Municipal League, the National Congress, provincial governorships, the Catholic Church and various Christian denominations. The Office of the First Lady, the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency and the Presidency of the Republic will also participate.
Peña Guaba highlighted that, from the Social Policy Cabinet, the bonuses are being delivered exclusively to the social fabric, including institutions such as the National Patronage for the Blind, Patronage for the Deaf-Mute, the School for the Deaf-Mute, hospitals, renal patients, cardiac patients, people living in vulnerable situations.
“With this, the Government demonstrates its social sensitivity, sharing the bonus with all branches of the state and ensuring it reaches the most needy people in the Dominican Republic,” said the official.
The event was attended by the Vice Minister of Social Development of the Ministry of the Presidency, Alexis Jiménez; the mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Dio Astacio; the governor of the province of Santo Domingo, Lucrecia Leyba, and the general director of National Assets, Rafael Burgos Gómez.
Christmas Bonus Launch 2025 in the Cibao
In parallel, from the province of Santiago, Vice President Raquel Peña led the delivery of the Christmas Bonus for the Cibao region.
In the act, Peña stated that the Christmas Bonus 2025 was conceived as direct support for Dominican households so that they can experience the holidays with greater tranquility and dignity. And that this year, under the vision of President Luis Abinader, they reaffirm that commitment to each Dominican family.
The vice president defined this contribution as “A hug, a gesture of closeness, a reminder that the Government is working so that no one is left behind, especially in such a significant time as this.”
“We want this bonus to reach those who really need it, to alleviate, to accompany and to ignite hope in each family,” said Peña.
