Santo Domingo.–The Rare Earth exploration project in the Pedernales province continues to advance according to the established schedule, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos, reported this Tuesday.
Santos explained that the process is currently in an advanced stage of exploration, the results of which are being subjected to a confirmation process before proceeding with the declaration of the identified resources.
The official indicated that the Government plans to make this declaration in November of this year, once the verifications corresponding to the studies carried out are concluded.

Likewise, he announced that by early 2027 it is expected to declare the field’s reserves, “a step of great importance for the country”.
If these projections materialize, Rare Earths would become a strategic asset for the country, while potentially generating new opportunities for the development and diversification of the national mining sector.
Santos highlighted that the project’s progress is part of the Government’s efforts to “responsibly leverage the country’s natural resources and boost new areas with the capacity to contribute to national economic growth”.
