The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, located in the state of Florida, in the United States, announced this Thursday, February 11, through a statement that they are searching for Joseph Davis, a man who stole his girlfriend’s engagement ring to propose to another woman.
The subject, 48 years old, is wanted for aggravated theft after robbing and betraying his two girlfriends, whom he met on the dating site OKCupid.
According to the authorities, he used the alias ‘Joe Brown’ with one of his partners and ‘Marcus Brown’ with the other.
The criminal’s double life was discovered by one of his girlfriends. The woman, who lives in Orange City, Florida, and who had been dating Davis since 2015, found out through Facebook that her boyfriend was engaged to another woman.

It was thanks to an image posted on this social network that he realized that the newly engaged was wearing a ring identical to one of his from a previous marriage. So, he checked his jewelry box and noticed that that and other valuable items were missing. Everything stolen by Davis costs about $6,270, approximately 22 million pesos. Outraged by the situation, she contacted Davis’s fiancée, whom he had been dating since 2016. Upon hearing the story, the second couple, who live in Orlando, realized that the man had also stolen some jewelry and their laptop after he moved out of their apartment.
