During the inspection days, the inspectors will be accompanied by agents from the General Directorate of Road Safety and Ground Transportation (DIGESETT), who will proceed in accordance with current regulations in cases where non-compliance with the established safety standards is detected.About the inspection operation
The operation will take place from December 18 to 30, as part of the preventive actions implemented during the Christmas period, characterized by a significant increase in vehicular mobility nationwide. The planning contemplates an inspection target higher than that achieved in previous Christmas operations, strengthening the scope and capacity of institutional supervision and integrating for the first time, in an expanded manner, cargo vehicles, given their high intercity circulation during this season. The operation includes the inspection of essential elements for vehicle safety, including the proper functioning of the lighting system, the condition of the tires, the state of the mirrors, windows and bumpers, as well as the availability of mandatory safety devices, such as emergency triangles, fire extinguisher and first aid kit. As part of the established preventive controls, doping tests, alcohol tests, and medical evaluations will be applied to drivers, with the aim of ensuring that transport units, including cargo units, are operated in adequate health and fitness conditions for driving.
