Santiago. – Fénix Legendario Studios commemorates its tenth anniversary, marking a decade of growth, creativity, and significant contributions to cinema and audiovisual production in the Dominican Republic.
Founded in Santiago de los Caballeros by Ronny A. Sosa, screenwriter, director, and producer, the studio has built a solid path within the national and international film industry.
From its beginnings, Sosa’s vision has been accompanied by that of its co-founders Biviana Bautista, Julio Grisanty and Adalberto Jiménez, who have consolidated Fénix Legendario Studios as a creative benchmark in the northern region of the country.
Over these ten years, the production company has achieved significant milestones through projects that have transcended beyond Dominican borders.
Among his most outstanding works are: La Bruja (2021), which was filmed in San José de las Matas, becoming that year the highest-grossing Dominican film, solidifying the studio as a key force in the local industry.
Zoilo is also highlighted, Volará (2022), an animated short film winner of the Fonprocine award granted by the General Directorate of Cinema (DGCINE) and “Nuestra Tierra” (2025), the studio’s most recent production, a documentary that addresses the challenges of entities dedicated to environmental protection.
In addition to its creative work, Fénix Legendario Studios has strengthened Dominican cinema through strategic alliances with production companies in Argentina, Mexico, and the United States, expanding its reach and fostering international collaboration.
Among his upcoming projects is “Boru“, a new documentary, a production that will explore the history of Japanese migration to the Dominican Republic, as well as the experience of Dominicans who have emigrated to Japan, as well as the biographical film of baseball player Miguel Tejada.
