National Police captures young man accused of injuring his mother with a ‘chilena’ in Hato Mayor

By: “Manuel Peralta” San Pedro de Macorís.- Police agents attached to the Preventive Police of the Hato Mayor Police Department arrested Darven Vera Santana, 18 years old, for having wounded his mother Natalia Santana with a homemade firearm projectile. The woman, 42 years old, according to a medical diagnosis of “irregular edge wound with venous muscular bone lesion in the right foot”, which was allegedly caused accidentally by her son with a “chilena”.

According to the preliminary report, the incident occurred on the morning of last Monday, at the residence of the injured person, while the detainee was preparing to move two homemade weapons from one place to another, including the one used in the incident, which were kept in the aforementioned house and were subsequently seized by our agents. The detainee and the evidence were sent before the Public Ministry for the corresponding purposes.
