SANTO DOMINGO.– Communicator Pedro Jiménez asserted that sectors of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) are allegedly pressuring President Luis Abinader to remove the director of the National Institute for Comprehensive Early Childhood Care (INAIPI), Josefa Castillo, from her position.
According to Jiménez, the pressures are a response to Castillo not having supported the aspirations of certain political groups within the ruling organization. So far, there is no official confirmation from the Government, the PRM, or the INAIPI regarding those claims.
The communicator stated that he does not agree with leaders being subjected to pressure for deciding to remain on the sidelines of the party’s internal factions while they wait for the opportune moment to define their political support. In that sense, he recalled that Josefa Castillo was one of the leaders who accompanied Luis Abinader from the beginning of his presidential project.
Likewise, he mentioned other historical leaders of the PRM, including Vértigo Santana, noting that they supported the current president when he was not yet a presidential candidate, which is why he considered that this commitment should be recognized and valued by the organization.

Jiménez also defended Castillo’s management at the head of INAIPI, asserting that she has developed an efficient administration free of scandals. He highlighted the expansion of the Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Centers (CAIPI), the impact of programs aimed at thousands of families, and the positive evaluations that, as he stated, the institution has received.
Finally, he considered that it would be a mistake to replace officials who have shown results for political reasons and urged President Luis Abinader not to be influenced by sectors that, in his opinion, seek to provoke divisions both in the Government and in the PRM.
