Santiago.– The National Police reported this Monday the arrest of 13 people during preventive and investigative operations carried out in the last 48 hours in different municipalities and sectors of the Santiago province, where alleged suspects involved in cases of robbery, gender-based violence, illegal possession of firearms, and money counterfeiting were apprehended.
According to the institution, several of the arrests were carried out through judicial warrants, while others occurred in flagrante delicto, as part of the actions aimed at combating crime and strengthening citizen security.
Among those detained by arrest warrants is Ángel Misael Cruz Abinader, accused of alleged death threats and violence against his ex-partner, in compliance with warrant No. 2026-AJ0060514.
Also arrested was José Humberto Checo Rivas, alias “Yiyo”, pointed out for the alleged theft of a pistol, a shotgun, and several gold items from a commercial establishment, under order No. 2026-AJ0058034.
During the operations, agents arrested Robert Anderson Gómez Reynoso in flagrante delicto, from whom they seized a Taurus brand 9-millimeter caliber pistol, with its magazine and five rounds, without legal documents, in addition to RD$8,895, US$15, and an iPhone cell phone.

In the Los Jazmines sector, Ely de los Santos Risk Núñez, alias “El Flaco”; David Núñez Mejía, and José Luis Díaz Rosario were arrested, who were allegedly traveling in a vehicle with a modified pistol, a magazine, two cartridges, three coats, and a ski mask.
Likewise, in Villa González, Yeral Antonio Batista Pineda and Gregorio Valentín Vélez were arrested, from whom a .22 caliber rifle and two homemade weapons were seized.

In another operation carried out in Hato del Yaque, Altagracia Rodríguez Calderón was arrested, allegedly caught while stealing several cases of beer from a commercial establishment, an act that was recorded by surveillance cameras.
The Police also reported the arrest of José Augusto Ureña Taveras, accused of alleged physical assault against his ex-partner, and of Katherine Cruz Cabrera, pointed out for her alleged participation in a case of assault and battery, both under arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0060564.
Meanwhile, Ener Félix, of Haitian nationality, was arrested under warrant No. 2026-AJ0062534, accused of his alleged participation in the theft of three sacks of coffee from a company located in Villa González.
In actions carried out in flagrante delicto, the agents also captured Yoelinson Estébez García, alias “El Mono”, identified as the alleged perpetrator of two robberies in homes in the Cienfuegos sector, where an aluminum channel for rainwater drainage and two quintals of construction rods were recovered.
Finally, Marcelino Ventura was arrested, who allegedly attempted to make a purchase using a presumably counterfeit RD$2,000 bill, which was seized for investigation purposes.
The National Police indicated that the 13 detainees, along with the evidence seized during the operations, were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal procedures.
