Police state that investigations into the armored truck robbery in Monte Plata are progressing

Santo Domingo.– The National Police reported this Tuesday that the investigations into the robbery of an armored transport truck, which occurred on Monday afternoon in the municipal district of Don Juan, Monte Plata province, are in an advanced stage.

The institution’s spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, explained that the investigation teams, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, continue to collect evidence and conduct interviews as part of the proceedings to identify and capture those responsible.

“Regarding this assault that occurred in the community of Don Juan, our police agents, in coordination with the Public Ministry, have made significant progress in this first stage of the investigative process. We can say that the investigation is very advanced and we hope to offer a definitive response regarding this case in the coming hours,” stated Pesqueira.

According to preliminary investigations, several armed men arrived at the scene in a vehicle. After getting out, they committed the assault and fled in an unknown direction.

The National Police stated that they are keeping search and investigation efforts active to locate those involved and bring them before the Public Prosecutor’s Office, so that they may answer to justice for the act.
