Santo Domingo.— Communicator Rodolfo Santos stated that the President of the Republic and leader of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Luis Abinader, has reportedly established that those who aspire to lead the political organization for the next electoral cycle must build their own structures and develop territorial leadership.

During an analysis on the program “El Matutino del País” regarding the internal landscape of the PRM, Santos maintained that Abinader had changed the political scenario by making it clear that he will continue to lead the organization until 2030 and that the sectors aspiring to the presidential candidacy will have to interact with his leadership.

The communicator questioned those who, as he said, intend to “tie up at the top what they have not built at the bottom,” considering that political aspirations cannot depend solely on social media or groups that seek to position themselves without developing territorial work.

“Create your structure, develop your leadership. Politics is not created on social media,” stated Santos.

Santos highlights the influence of the Mejías

Referring to the PRM convention, Santos pointed out that the group linked to the Mejías had presented its own differentiated political structure, unlike other sectors that, according to his interpretation, went to negotiate with structures linked to President Abinader’s circle.

Likewise, he asserted that some sectors began to project a perception of victory after the convention, an assessment he described as “false in every respect.”

Santos concluded that, from his perspective, the result of the convention evidences the importance of building real political structures and strengthening leadership from the grassroots, rather than relying exclusively on media positioning or social networks in view of the 2028 presidential aspirations.

The statements are part of Santos’ political analysis regarding the internal dynamics of the PRM and the scenario that is beginning to take shape within that organization with a view toward the next electoral cycle.
