Santiago de los Caballeros.- The mayor of Santiago de los Caballeros, Ulises Rodríguez, assured this Friday that the municipality is steadily advancing in an urban transformation process that impacts multiple sectors, during his accountability corresponding to the 2025-2026 period.
The municipal executive affirmed that the city shows visible progress in areas such as infrastructure, security, urban cleaning, mobility, culture, sports, tourism, social inclusion, sanitation and institutionality, as part of a comprehensive modernization strategy.
More than 2,000 luminaires to reinforce security
Rodríguez highlighted the installation and replacement of more than 2,000 luminaires in different sectors of the municipality, which has allowed to improve public lighting, strengthen citizen security and optimize urban monitoring systems.
He indicated that this intervention has helped generate a greater sense of tranquility for residents and visitors.
New sanitation works on the agenda
The mayor announced that, after concluding the bidding processes, new infrastructure and sanitation interventions will begin, including work in the sector known as “Nueva York Chiquito” and the sanitation of the El Embrujo, La Española, and Villa ravines.
These works are part of a plan aimed at improving environmental and health conditions in vulnerable communities.
Support from the Central Government
Ulises Rodríguez reiterated that the transformation of Santiago has the backing of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, and affirmed that municipal management is advancing with planning and a vision for the future.
“Santiago is a city that knows where it’s going and we are transforming it together,” said the mayor at the end of his speech.
