Sinkhole reported on main road in Samaná

Samaná. Community members reported the deterioration of a section of the main road to Santa Bárbara de Samaná, where a sinkhole located on the Hondura ascent, after the entrance to Puerto Bahía, poses a risk to those traveling through the area.
Although the area has been provisionally marked, residents state that the ground continues to give way, which increases the danger of accidents for drivers, motorcyclists, and other users of this important road.
The road is one of the main connections in the province, so a collapse of the section would affect both road safety and the mobility of residents and visitors.

Given the situation, community members requested the intervention of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) and the Provincial Government of Samaná, so that a technical evaluation of the area can be carried out and the necessary repairs executed as soon as possible.
The whistleblowers insisted that preventive action will help avoid accidents and further damage to the infrastructure, so they expect a timely response from the authorities.
