SNS begins renovation of the Municipal Hospital of Bánica with an investment exceeding RD$163 million

The director of the SNS also made visits and supervisions in different health centers to continue strengthening the hospital network.
Santo Domingo.- The executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), doctor Julio Landrón, initiated the remodeling work of the Municipal Hospital of Bánica, an intervention aimed at strengthening the center’s response capacity and guaranteeing more dignified and efficient health services for the population of this border demarcation. “This is a work that was paid for in the past government, but was not completed or put into service. This administration has had to overcome the obstacles to resume it and finally put it at the service of the population,” expressed Landrón. The head of the SNS indicated that the work will be executed in 12 months and will have a total investment of RD$163,784,920.05, of which RD$135,483,858.98 correspond to infrastructure and RD$28,301,061.07 to medical equipment.

He also reported that a first disbursement of RD$27 million has already been made to the contractor to begin the work. The intervention includes the rehabilitation of clinical and administrative areas, roof repair, adaptation of electrical and sanitary networks, general painting and modernization of key spaces. Among the areas considered are outpatient consultation, diagnosis, emergency, hospitalization with 32 beds, surgical block, delivery room, neonatal area and administrative and general services.
