Santo Domingo. — The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, announced this Monday that the Joint Task Force has intensified the deployment of the Citizen Security operation throughout the national territory, on the occasion of the end-of-year festivities and the arrival of 2026.
After concluding the virtual follow-up meeting this Monday, led by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, the minister highlighted that the operation remains active continuously, including the early hours of the morning, as a preventive measure against the violent events recorded last weekend, which she described as regrettable and unacceptable.
Raful warned that any firearm displayed in public spaces by civilians will be seized, even if it has the corresponding legal documentation, reiterating that the State’s priority is to preserve life and public order.
