Trump asks Congress to approve $350 billion plan for the Pentagon
Washington.- U.S. President Donald Trump asked Congress this Wednesday to immediately approve a $350 billion reconciliation bill aimed at strengthening the Armed Forces and including a broad agenda of electoral reforms.
In a post on Truth Social, addressed to Republican lawmakers, Trump urged the promotion of the so-called ‘Recon 3.0’, which, he said, seeks to consolidate a generational investment in defense and move toward a military budget of up to $1.5 trillion.
The plan contemplates, according to the president, the development of new military capabilities, including missile defense systems, aircraft modernization, strengthening of the Space Force, and increased production of ammunition and drones.
The initiative also includes the so-called ‘Save America Act‘, with measures regarding voter identification, proof of citizenship, restrictions on mail-in voting, and provisions concerning women’s sports and transition treatments for minors.

The concept of a third reconciliation law had already been subject to prior discussion in the legislative sphere, although without becoming a consolidated formal project.
In those conversations, the so-called ‘Reconciliation 3.0’ was proposed as a possible tax and spending package still in an exploratory phase within Congress.
According to that information, deliberations among Republican lawmakers included the possibility of using the budget reconciliation mechanism to advance defense and domestic policy priorities, although doubts persisted regarding its political viability in the Senate.
In that context, Trump’s announcement represents an expansion of the previously discussed framework, by providing it with a more defined structure and linking it directly to military spending goals and concrete legislative reforms.
