Wake up with La X raises RD$ 1.6 MM in one morning to support children with cancer from the St. Jude Foundation
Santo Domingo.– The radio program Despierta con La X, on the station X102.1 FM, managed to raise RD$1,600,000 during a special solidarity event held this Tuesday, funds that will be donated to the St. Jude Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support to children with cancer and their families.
The initiative is part of the charitable activities linked to the X102 Padel Tournament 2026, an event organized by the station that will be held from June 25 to 28 at the The Grove Padel Club facilities. The main objective of the tournament is to raise funds to strengthen the assistance programs developed by the foundation for minors affected by the disease.
The figure reached was possible thanks to the massive response from the morning show’s listeners, who made financial contributions during the special broadcast. In just a few hours, the audience managed to surpass the proposed goal, demonstrating once again their commitment to social causes and the well-being of children facing cancer treatments.
The organizers highlighted that the support received reflects the sensitivity and solidarity of the X102.1 FM listener community, who responded to the call to contribute to an institution that works by offering medical assistance, emotional support, and accompaniment to dozens of Dominican families.

As part of the fundraising campaign, the station reported that for the rest of the week, other slots in its programming will continue to promote contributions for the benefit of the foundation. The programs Pichando a las 12 and MAB Radio, broadcast from 5:00 to 7:00 in the evening, will develop similar dynamics to increase funds before the tournament celebration.
The resources obtained will be used to strengthen the various care programs offered by the St. Jude Foundation, including support for medical treatments, psychological counseling, and assistance to families facing the economic and emotional impact of childhood cancer.
The X102 Padel Tournament 2026 will bring together players, sponsors, sports personalities, and members of society in an event that combines sports competition with social commitment. The activity has established itself as one of the main charitable initiatives promoted by Dominican radio.

The organizers reiterated that all funds raised, both during the radio campaign and the tournament, will be donated to the St. Jude Foundation to continue supporting the fight against childhood cancer and provide hope to dozens of families across the country.
