71-year-old man murders ex-partner in San Francisco de Macorís; family demands justice

San Francisco de Macorís. – A new femicide shook Duarte province this weekend when Mary Corniel Vizcaíno, 50, was murdered with several stab wounds allegedly by her ex-partner, José Emérito Almánzar, 71. According to family and friends, Corniel Vizcaíno had decided to separate from Almánzar more than four months ago due to the constant episodes of abuse she was receiving. However, they reported that the man continued to harass her and pressure her to resume the relationship, which ultimately triggered the tragic outcome.
