Azua. – An 89-year-old man reported being the victim of a robbery in the municipality of Sabana Yegua, after being stripped of 30,000 pesos by a woman he described as unknown and whom he called a “gold digger”.
The complainant, identified as Domingo Torres, narrated that the woman arrived at his residence, where he lives alone, and took advantage of a moment of carelessness to steal the money he had kept in the pocket of a pair of pants.
“Ese dinero, una parte me lo mandaron mis hijos y los otros 22 mil me los saqué en la lotería. Solo me puse la mano en la cabeza cuando revisé y no vi nada”,
relató Torres.
The affected party stated that, after realizing what had happened, he walked several streets looking for the woman and later recognized her in a bar far from his home, although he did not manage to recover the money.
Torres initially went to the Sabana Yegua police detachment, where he said he did not receive the proper attention, so he decided to move to the National Police headquarters in the head municipality of Azua, where the complaint was finally received.
The elderly man described the alleged perpetrator as a woman of Indian complexion and slender build, and called on the authorities to find her and recover the resources that cost him so much effort to gather.
