Washington.- The Iranian Revolutionary Guard reported early between this Sunday and Monday that United States attacks against Larak Island had destroyed two rocket launchers loaded with sea mines.
In a statement released by the Iranian agencies Fars and Tasnim, linked to the Revolutionary Guard, the spokesperson for the elite corps asserted that the “terrorist aggression” will be “punished”.
The message also indicates that the attack was carried out with drones and that it has left dead and wounded, without specifying the numbers, while in another statement a spokesperson for the Revolutionary Guard called the attack a “fatal strategic error.”

For its part, a U.S. official, who requested anonymity, told CNN that the attack destroyed two platforms for launching rockets loaded with sea mines that Tehran was preparing to launch into the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the source, the U.S. military carried out the attack, which marks Washington’s first against an Iranian target in over a month, when Iranian forces were observed preparing to launch these rockets that deposit mines in the water.
Trump’s warning about mines in Hormuz
Larak Island is located near the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic location for global oil transit and a scene of dispute between Iran and the United States since the beginning of the war.
President Donald Trump stated last Tuesday that the Central Command (CENTCOM) had completed the demining of international shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz.

The expiration of the memorandum
Today’s is the first attack on record since the end of July, when media reported bombings against dozens of military targets of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
